About 1N1LY Consumer GST Club

The Visionary Behind the Movement

The 1N1LY Consumer GST Club is the brainchild of eShan, author of the Letter to Future and Global Citizens’ Manifesto series, which he uniquely co-authored in collaboration with artificial intelligence.

He is also the creator and brand owner of In10city—a virtual nation in a state of mind—and 33.3 IM Readio, described as the world’s first radio on print.

With decades of cross-disciplinary experience spanning information science, technology applications, economics, and electronics, eShan has built his career on challenging conventional thinking. His passion lies in examining systems not merely by how they have traditionally operated, but by how they can be redesigned to serve humanity more effectively.

The Spark of Disruption

Having witnessed the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in Singapore, eShan began asking fundamental questions:

  • Why introduce GST in a country traditionally known for its tax-friendly environment?
  • Why is GST collected from consumers without providing them with direct acknowledgment or credit?
  • Why are businesses empowered to collect GST from consumers when consumers have limited means to verify the collection?
  • If citizens possess secure national identification, such as Singapore’s NRIC, why not use that infrastructure to record who actually paid the tax?

These questions became even more significant as other jurisdictions, including Dubai, introduced consumption taxes, and India implemented its complex, multi-state and multilingual GST framework. The growth of GST-related fraud, confusion, and administrative challenges highlighted what eShan viewed as a fundamental weakness in the existing indirect-tax model: consumers bear the cost, yet remain largely invisible within the system.

The Web3 Consumer Revolution

The widespread adoption of India’s Aadhaar system sparked a further question: Why not securely identify the consumer at the point of final purchase?

The emergence of Web3 technologies and decentralised ledgers offered new possibilities. eShan envisioned a direct consumption-tax model in which the end consumer could be digitally recognised and transactions could be recorded with greater transparency.

Transforming an established tax infrastructure, however, requires significant political will, resources, and institutional cooperation. Rather than waiting for governments to redesign the system, eShan chose to begin with the most important participants—the consumers themselves.

This vision gave rise to the 1N1LY Consumer GST Club.

For the Consumers, By the Consumers

As a developer of human-networking systems, eShan designed the Club’s referral programme to provide consumers with a meaningful incentive to connect, participate, and support one another.

Guided by his personal principle—“Even tomorrow has a tomorrow to worry about”—eShan has dedicated this chapter of his life to building proactive systems for future generations.

The 1N1LY Consumer GST Club seeks to foster grassroots financial resilience through a transparent, peer-to-peer referral network. Its objective is to empower everyday citizens to create supplementary income opportunities while encouraging greater participation in the economic systems they support.

By bringing consumers together, the Club aspires to help transform them from passive participants in the economy into informed, connected, and active beneficiaries.
